All You Need to Know to Teach Reading
Are you a beginner to the Reading process? Does it feel daunting to attack it with your child? Does your child seem to be faltering in their efforts to learn to read? Is it the curriculum? Is it you? Based on current research, this workshop is designed to help parents better understand the most essential elements of the reading process. You will learn the critical ingredients that must be emphasized to produce a successful, capable reader, no matter the age of your child. Reading is NOT a One Size Fits All. It is a complex, amazing accomplishment even for those that seem to catch on easily. For those that struggle it can be terribly discouraging for both the teacher/Parent and the student. As you seek to understand both the how to of learning to read, as well as the nature of your child's learning, what is often overlooked is a true understanding of the reading process itself. This workshop is designed to better equip you to understand how we learn to read, and why it can be difficult for some. A question and answer time will be given..so come with your concerns!

Desperate to Understand Your Child's Way of Learning? Come Find It Here
"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."
- Albert Einstein
Aha! That moment when you finally hear your child being described and you don't feel so alone. In a world where most all teaching and curriculums are written for the auditory-sequential learner, what does it mean to be a visual-spatial learner? Visual imagery plays a significant role in their learning. If you show them directions to a model airplane... some are overwhelmed before they begin...BUT, show them the model first and the directions make sense! Come learn why 1/3 of all students often feel dumb and like the only ones that don’t understand... you may just find your child described here in this workshop and discussion. We will cover suggestions that you can implement to adjust your teaching, assistance, and curriculum to reach them.
